ISVIND Member To Guest On New ORCRIST Album
April 29, 2007Goblin of cult Norwegian black metallers ISVIND will contribute lyrics and vocals to three tracks on the new ORCRIST album, which is currently being recorded at the Italian band's studio in their hometown near Milan. This will not be the first time the two groups have collaborated, having teamed up for a split 7" in 2003, although it will be the first time any of the members actually perform together. The music is being written by ORCRIST drummer Grav, guitarist Bhaal, and bass player Mattia Zero to Infinity, while lyrics for the remaining tracks will be written and performed by the band's vocalist Ghosta. The group is currently seeking a record label to release the effort.
A band known for its traditional, old-school approach to black metal, ORCRIST intends to introduce a change of pace into the new album.
Commented founding member and leader Grav: "We have written a slower song, which has received an excellent response from those who have heard it. I think we were all reluctant to try it initially, but we realized that it is not good for a band to remain static in its approach. We have progressed as writers and musicians, and the new material needed to reflect that. We will never, however, lose the 'underground' ethos. It is too important to us, and equally so to our fans."
ORCRIST is an Italian underground black metal band with a history of working with Norwegian bands. The group recently released "Black Destroyer", a split 7" on Temple of Darkness Records with Norwegians BEASTCRAFT, and has in the past contributed not only the intro on the ILDJARN tribute album "Gathered Under The Banner Of Strength and Honour", but has also written the lyrics, with ILDJARN's blessing, for "Unknown Harmony", a previously unnamed track on the same album. Tracks from "Black Destroyer" and their last CD, "Black Blood Raised", can be heard on the official ORCRISTMySpace page.
